Full-paper files and rounds

  1. The main file is always Word (.docx); reviewers read the text taken from it. A PDF may be added for layout reference; reviewers do not read the PDF.
  2. 2,000–10,000 words including notes and references; each Chinese, Japanese or Korean character counts as one word, and in English, Vietnamese and other alphabetic languages each word counts as one.
  3. The main file and PDF together must be 3 MB or less; the paper must include the title, abstract, keywords, main text and references.
  4. Every round needs three items: (1) the anonymized manuscript (Word; no author names, emails or acknowledgements in the text); (2) a cover letter to the handling editor (not shown to reviewers, not published); (3) from round 2, a “response to reviewers” Word file answering each numbered comment in the decision letter, with reasons wherever you disagree (published with the paper if accepted).
  5. Round 1: declined if both reviewers find it unacceptable; otherwise always revise and resubmit. From round 2: accepted if both find it acceptable and no ethics violation is found; declined if both find it unacceptable; otherwise revise. Declined if still not accepted in round 3.
  6. After each result is posted, log in within 7 days to read it; after reading, submit the full paper or revision within 30 days, or it counts as withdrawn.
  7. Five abstracts and five full papers are reviewed each day, in order of arrival; submissions pause when the queue is full.
